The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has completed investigations into three separate cases involving police services in Alberta. In each, the acting executive director reviewed the evidence and issued a written report setting out the findings and conclusions.

RCMP – May 13, 2024 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate the death of a newborn child following a woman’s detention in RCMP cells in Lloydminster.
Edmonton Police Service – Oct. 10, 2024 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate an injury that occurred during an arrest by the Edmonton Police Service.
RCMP – Dec. 12, 2024 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate a shooting involving the RCMP in Fort McMurray.
ASIRT operates within the Police Review Commission, an independent, civilian-led agency that investigates criminal allegations and public complaints involving police services in Alberta.
