ASIRT concludes investigation into AI-generated intimate images

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has concluded a Level 1 investigation of an Alberta Sheriffs peace officer involving AI-generated intimate images.

Level 1 matters are cases involving serious injury or death, or serious or sensitive allegations about an officer’s actions.  Under changes to the Peace Officer Act that took effect in December 2025, ASIRT’s jurisdiction extends to peace officers for Level 1 matters.

The executive director reviewed the evidence and issued a written report setting out the findings and conclusions.

The report is now publicly available:

Alberta Sheriffs  – June 30, 2026 Report

ASIRT is part of the Police Review Commission, an independent civilian-led agency. ASIRT investigates potential criminal offences involving police across Alberta, including cases where the actions of a police officer may have resulted in serious injury or death.
