ASIRT concludes investigation into use of force during Edmonton arrest

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has concluded its investigation into the use of force by an Edmonton Police Service officer.

ASIRT’s executive director has issued a written decision setting out the findings of the investigation. The full report is now publicly available.

ASIRT is part of the Police Review Commission, an independent civilian-led agency. ASIRT investigates potential criminal offences involving police across Alberta, including cases where the actions of a police officer may have resulted in serious injury or death.
