ASIRT issues public report on 2023 Calgary police dog bite

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has concluded an investigation related to an incident involving the Calgary Police Service in 2023. ASIRT’s acting executive director issued a written decision outlining the findings and conclusions.

ASIRT was directed to investigate an incident in which a Calgary Police Service dog bit the affected person.

ASIRT operates within the Police Review Commission, an independent, civilian-led agency that investigates criminal allegations and public complaints involving police services in Alberta.
