ASIRT issues report on two completed investigations

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has completed two separate investigations involving the RCMP in Alberta. In each case, ASIRT’s executive director reviewed the evidence and issued a written report outlining the findings and conclusions.

The full reports are now publicly available.

ASIRT examined the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following an interaction with RCMP officers who responded to a mental health call at an Edmonton-area hotel casino.

ASIRT investigated a shooting involving RCMP officers on Ermineskin Cree Nation that resulted in a man suffering serious injuries.  

 

ASIRT is part of the Police Review Commission, an independent civilian-led agency. ASIRT investigates potential criminal offences involving police across Alberta, including cases where the actions of a police officer may have resulted in serious injury or death.
