ASIRT issues report on two completed investigations

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has completed two separate investigations involving the RCMP in Alberta. In each case, ASIRT’s executive director reviewed the evidence and issued a written report outlining the findings and conclusions.

The full reports are now publicly available.

RCMP – July 4, 2024 | Report

ASIRT investigated the circumstances surrounding a man who was injured while being arrested after he fled from a police traffic stop.

RCMP – March 4, 2026 | Report

ASIRT examined an allegation from a woman that an off-duty RCMP officer had put something in her drink at a Calgary bar. Subsequent analysis revealed no substances in the drink.

ASIRT is part of the Police Review Commission, an independent civilian-led agency. ASIRT investigates potential criminal offences involving police across Alberta, including cases where the actions of a police officer may have resulted in serious injury or death.
