ASIRT releases findings following RCMP arrest in Cowley

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has concluded an investigation into an RCMP arrest in Cowley. ASIRT’s acting executive director has issued a written decision setting out the findings of the investigation.

On March 12, 2025, ASIRT was directed to investigate allegations of excessive force related to an arrest that took place nearly a year earlier.

ASIRT operates within the Police Review Commission, an independent, civilian-led agency that investigates criminal allegations and public complaints involving police services in Alberta.
