The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has completed investigations into two separate incidents involving the RCMP in Alberta. In each case, the acting executive director reviewed the evidence and issued a written report setting out the findings and conclusions.

RCMP – Jan. 6, 2026 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate a shooting near Grande Prairie during a response to a potential impaired driver.
RCMP – Feb. 4, 2025 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate a shooting in southern Alberta following an extended vehicle and on-foot pursuit.
ASIRT operates within the Police Review Commission (PRC), an independent, civilian-led agency responsible for investigating criminal allegations and serious incidents involving police services in Alberta. ASIRT conducts independent and objective investigations into incidents resulting in death, serious injury, or potential criminal offences involving police services, as well as serious matters involving peace officers.
