The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has completed investigations into four separate cases involving the RCMP in Alberta. In each case, ASIRT’s acting executive director reviewed the evidence and issued a written report setting out the findings and conclusions.

RCMP – Dec. 14, 2024 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate a fatal RCMP shooting in Cold Lake where officers responded to a call about a fight at a bus stop.
RCMP – March 18, 2025 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate the death of a man in the custody of the St. Paul RCMP.
RCMP – July 19, 2025 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred near Grande Prairie after an attempted traffic stop.
RCMP – July 27, 2025 | Report
ASIRT was directed to investigate a fatal RCMP shooting during a disturbance call involving a man with a knife in Lac La Biche.
ASIRT is part of the Police Review Commission, an independent civilian-led agency. ASIRT investigates serious incidents involving police across Alberta, including those that result in serious injury or death, as well as potential criminal offences.
